Originally titled "Mike's Song," this track emerged during the midst of the pandemic. Doug found himself yearning for the presence of Mike, reminiscing about the days before the responsibilities of children, careers, and obligations consumed their lives. Nevertheless, this composition not only serves as a nostalgic reflection but also reaffirms the enduring resilience of the band, assuring that it will persist, regardless of the challenges they face.
lyrics
It was time to go, the girls were at the bar
And maybe we can do one more song, maybe mister jones
I was so high, but you were by my side
And time goes by.
Wish we could go back
To you and me living the life
Kicked off at Dupont, it's in flames tonight
screaming better stop that cab
Because we only had nickels and a dimes
Just so you know,
I still count the day until you’re back in town we can jam
Maybe play a show
Man we're so tired, but we still play in-time
Side by side
Wish we could go back
To you and me living the life
We got a wife and some kids no
Early bedtimes
We may be up in the c suite
But we're up on your stage tonight
It was time to go, the girls were at the bar
And maybe we can do one more song, may mister jones
I was so high, but you were by my side
And time goes by.
Umm its the Nil, We had a chance to play with them when we were both starting off but we had another show...i think if we would have played that show we would be friends. The Canadian Shield
